Outstanding wines.

Last night I had an incredible wine, the Clos du Tue-Boeuf Cheverny La Gravotte 2006 France, Loire Valley, Upper Loire
Outstanding wine. One of the most balanced wines I have ever tasted. The nose is incredible; fresh strawberries, some cinnamon, brown sugar, toast, rose petals, blackberries and hints of vanilla and cocoa. I wanted to smell the glass all night long. Wonderful mid palate, and delicious finish even though a little bit too short (2-4 seconds). On the mouth, ripe red berries and flowers. After the first sip you know that the winemakers are true masters of their craft and that they make the best possible wine without tricks or simply looking for better ratings or reviews. This is a clean, honest, perfectly balanced wine that represents with honors the Loire Valley. Absolutely wonderful. Will definitively buy more and will try all the Puzelat wines I can find. 92 points

I also had this one a few nights ago:
2007 Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc Private Bin (New Zealand, South Island, Marlborough)
Fantastic summer wine. Green apple, lemon, hard candy, grass, and tropical fruits on the nose. Tons and tons of passionfruit. Amazingly refreshing, crisp and buttery at the same time with a piercing acidity with elegance and class. Decent finish but not as long as I’d expect. Great balance and a fantastic QPR at $11. By far, my favorite SB to date. 92 points
